NICKEL unalterable in the air and stainless up to temperatures of 500 °C, good resistance to molten alkali and seawater. Excellent performance in the presence of wet chlorine or hydrochloric acid gas up to500 °C. Slowly attacked by organic acids, hydrochloric and sulfuric acids. Low resistance to diluted nitric acid.
